Princess Anne Man Arrested in Cocaine Distribution Investigation

Posted: Updated:

BERLIN, Md. - Maryland State Police arrested a Princess Anne man after an anonymous tip helped lead to the discovery of cocaine and other drugs.

MSP Salisbury received the tip on Sunday. Someone said anonymously that a car involved in a drug distribution was heading to the Ocean Downs Casino and two of the people inside the car were armed.

MSP Salisbury notified MSP Berlin, and with the help of casino security, police found the car on casino grounds. Not long after, state police said they found the people who were in the car.

The driver, Robert Elmore, 45, of Princess Anne, was wanted on a Worcester County Grand Jury indictment for possession with the intent to distribute cocaine. During the investigation, a K-9 team with OC Police sniffed the car and positively identified the presence of drugs.

Elmore was arrested and troopers searched the car. Inside, MSP said they found 15 individually wrapped bags of cocaine as well as marijuana and crack cocaine.

Elmore was charged with several drug-related offenses and was held without bond pending a hearing for his indictment.

MSP said they are continuing to investigate the incident.
