Wicomico Schools Superintendent Addresses Concerns About Fights at Salisbury Middle

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md.- After parents used social media to voice their concerns about an increasing number of fights at Salisbury Middle School, Wicomico County Schools superintendent, Dr. Donna Hanlin, addressed the issue.

"I’d like to assure the community that school safety is an important topic for Wicomico County Public Schools at Salisbury Middle School and in every school," said Hanlin in a statement.

Hanlin also added that it's important for parents to communicate with the district and the school about any issues they might be aware of.

"Parents can also join schools in making sure students know the important role they can play in confidentially reporting safety concerns to any adult who works at the school. And we need parents to reinforce appropriate behavior in school and support our schools when discipline is required," said Hanlin.
