Updated: Suspicious Death Investigation Continues in Laurel

LAUREL, Del.- Delaware State Police are continuing to investigate the death of a woman whose body was found on the side of a Laurel roadway on Saturday morning.

The investigation got underway just before 7:30 a.m. Saturday when troopers were dispatched to South Shell Bridge Road in the area of Broad Creek Estates for a body that was found on the side of the roadway.

The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate this incident and is working closely with the Delaware Division of Forensic Science to determine the identity of the victim and the cause and manner of death.

There has been no other suspicious activity reported in the area at this time.  The Delaware State Police Troop 5, along with allied agencies, have increased their patrols in the area.
