Planned Power Outage in Powellville Announced

Delmarva Power is preparing for summer hurricane season. Delmarva Power is preparing for summer hurricane season.

POWELLVILLE, Md. - The Powellville Volunteer Fire Company is alerting residents of a planned power outage tonight at midnight.

A statement on the fire company's Facebook page says that everyone who has electric service provided by Delmarva Power will experience an outage from midnight until around 5 a.m. Friday.

Anyone who has medical devices that require electricity is encouraged to be prepared for the outage.

If a medical device is battery-powered, people are urged to charge the batteries prior to the outage.

People needing assistance during the outage are encouraged to call the fire company or 911.
