LEONARDTOWN, Md.- A retired teacher from Leonardtown, Md. has claimed a $50,000 Powerball win from the Maryland Lottery.

Steven Wolfe bought a quick-pick ticket for the April 17 drawing at a USA fuel gas station in Callaway, Maryland.

Wolfe was one of two Marylanders to win a $50,000 prize in the April 17 drawing and one of 19 $50,000 winners nationwide. The second Maryland winning ticket was sold in Baltimore.

This is not Wolfe’s first time winning through the Maryland Lottery. He says he has won small amounts through the Pick 3 games, but this $50,000 win is his biggest yet.

The 64-year-old retired teacher who taught at Great Mills High School says he will now trade his days in the classroom for hours on the golf course.

Some tell WBOC they ordered glasses just before the showdown and have yet to receive them, or be given clear vision on where to pick them up.
