Gov. Hogan: "I Will Not Be a Candidate"

Posted: Updated:

ANNAPOLIS, Md.- Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan has cleared any rumors about a possible presidential run.

The Republican governor took to Twitter over the weekend to confirm that he will not challenge President Donald Trump for the Republican nomination in 2020.

Hogan tweeted, "I truly appreciate all of the encouragement I received from people around the nation urging me to consider making a run for President in 2020. However, I will not be a candidate."

Hogan said instead he would focus on his second term as the governor and his upcoming role as Chairman of the National Governor's Association.
