Updated: Man Wanted for Woman's Abduction in Va. Surrenders to Police

ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va.- Virginia State Police say a man wanted in connection with an 18-year-old woman's abduction in Accomack County is now in custody.

Police on Thursday afternoon announced that 20-year-old Jerry Antonie Satchell of Horntown, Va., turned himself in to authorities. 

Police said Satchell was wanted for the early Wednesday morning abduction of Vermelle Tontrese Moore from Captains Cove, Greenbackville. According to troopers, Satchell forced Moore into a pickup truck and fled the scene. Police said Moore was safely located Wednesday afternoon. The pickup was also located but Satchell was not with it at the time.

Satchell was wanted for one felony count of abduction, one felony count of destruction of property and one felony count of assault.

While Satchell is no longer at-large, poice said this is an ongoing criminal investigation and more information would be released at a later time.
