Millsboro Woman Facing Charges After Suspected Overdose Death

MILLSBORO, Del. - Millsboro Police said they charged a woman with drug-related and reckless endangerment charges after another woman was found dead in her apartment. 

According to police, officers responded to reports of an overdose shortly after 3:30 a.m. on June 16th. It happened at the Brandywine Apartment complex near the intersection of Monroe Street and Wilson Highway. A 31-year-old woman was reportedly suffering from a suspected drug overdose. Authorities said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they charged 33-year-old Shanice Chandler of Millsboro on Tuesday. She's facing charges of first degree reckless endangering and delivery of a controlled substance.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing; however, Millsboro PD said they have been able to determine Chandler gave the woman narcotics before she died.

Chandler was arraigned and committed to the Balores Women’s Correctional Institution on a of $12,000 cash bail.
