CAMPAIGN TRAIL - A few top contenders spent the weekend at the Essence Festival in New Orleans.

Senators Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, and Kamala Harris, along with Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Beto O'Rourke, spoke at the Power stage Saturday and Sunday.

Harris announced her $100 billion black home ownership plan at the festival. The plan would address the racial gap in the United States through focusing on housing discrimination and financial literacy in black communities. Harris says her plan will help up to four million American families.

Not even a week about announcing a split with the GOP party, Rep. Justin Amash told CNN's Jake Tapper that he's not rule out a presidential run for 2020. Although technically not a Republican contender, Amash would be the second person with GOP-ties to run against President Donald Trump, alongside Former Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld.

Good news for President Trump. A new Washington Post/ABC News poll shows 44% of responding Americans approve of President Trump, an all time high since he entered office. The poll also shows a majority is dissatisfied with his handling of immigration.
