Delaware Police Investigate Deadly Motorcycle Crash in Greenwood

Posted: Updated:

GREENWOOD, Del. - Delaware State Police are investigating a motorcycle ash that happened in Greenwood just after midnight on Sunday, killing the operator.

According to police, 28 year-old Brandon M. Legrand, of Greenwood, was riding southbound on Oak Road with his 2009 Harley-Davidson Road King motorcycle. As he approached a left curve, police say he failed to turn and instead exited the west side of the road south of Beach Highway. The motorcycle then overturned onto its right side, and the motorcyclist was ejected. The motorcycle tumbled away where it crashed into a tree before coming to a stop next to the driver.

Legrand, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Oak Road was closed for three hours while police investigated and cleared the crash.
