Thunderstorms Cause Damage Throughout Delmarva

DELMARVA - People across the Delmarva Peninsula are reporting damage from thunderstorms that passed through the area on Wednesday night. Locations with damage include Wicomico County, Md. and Sussex County, Del. 

In Delaware, Brittney McCabe shared a picture of a downed tree on Windward Drive in Lewes. This is the scene for many areas recovering across the peninsula Thursday morning.

In Salisbury, Md., John McMullen sent us a picture of 507 Liberty St. McMullen says the tree went over a power line. Salisbury reported many power outages throughout the night from Delmarva Power. As of Thursday morning, all power through Delmarva Power was back up and running.

In Georgetown, Del., the Georgetown Fire Company responded to a lightning strike on Georgetown Middle School. According to the company's Facebook page, the chimney was hit, causing damage to the bricks.

No injuries have been reported as of Thursday morning.
