Harrington police said 23-year-old Deandre T. Bennett is charged with first-degree robbery, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Theft under $1,500 and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Police said the crime happened on Saturday, July 13, when Bennett walked inside the Rite Aid and attempted to purchase items. Police said when the 17-year-old opened the register, Bennett drew a handgun and pointed it at the clerk before fleeing the scene.

On Wednesday, Dover police took Bennett into custody. It turned out that he also had an active warrant out of the Dover Police Department for robbery.

Following his arrest on the aforementioned charges, Bennett was given a $40,000 cash bond for the Harrington charges and ordered held in the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of bond.
