Delaware Police Discover Meth Lab Inside Milford Man's Home

Posted: Updated:

MILFORD, Del. - Delaware State police have arrested a man in connection with a methamphetamine lab that was discovered during a search warrant.

Police say they began the investigation back in May, including three cases in which large amounts of copper wire were stripped and stolen from homes that were under construction. Between all three locations, police say they identified 46 year-old Paul D. Reedy as the suspect, estimating he stole $3,500 worth of copper wire and a trail camera.

The three cases led police to Reedy's home on the 21000 block of Rodney Park Drive in Milford. Police took Reedy into custody without incident and then discovered the meth lab.

Police say they uncovered approximately 0.06 grams of meth, components used to make meth, along with key ingredients in making the drug. Police also recovered a large amount of copper wire along with the stolen trail camera. Everything was safely collected and seized, according to police.

Police say Reedy is now facing a slew of charges including 3rd degree burglary, three counts of theft, three counts of selling stolen property, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Reedy was transported back to Troop 4 where he was charged with the following:

Reedy is being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $31,000 bond.

The Delaware State Police Troop 4, Drug Unit and the Governor's Task Force (GTF) responded to the scene, along with the Little Creek Fire Department and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) to assist with the investigation.

McColley Road between Shockley Road and Cedar Branch Road was closed to traffic for about four hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
