Some Still Without Glasses as Accurate Optical Remains Closed

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md.- After a tenant and landlord showdown last week, Accurate Optical in Salisbury remains closed.

This, after Azar Filipov Real Estate Holdings, which owns Accurate Optical's rental space, says months of unpaid rent is to blame.

And though Accurate Optical was evicted from the office space last week, many customers are left without answers.

Some tell WBOC they ordered glasses just before the showdown and have yet to receive them, or be given clear vision on where to pick them up.

But other customers were fortunate enough to avoid this and picked up their glasses before the company was evicted.

Ruth Jones said, "I have mine, that is true, but that definitely does not help those people that did not receive theirs yet and I can understand probably being upset and frustrated, but I'm hoping that they will be able to solve this situation," she said.

Others say they are not surprised with the lack of communication, as Accurate Optical has long struggled to get glasses to some customers in a timely fashion.

Lori Whaley, a customer we spoke with on Monday, said, "Years ago, the service was good, but in the past year and half to two years, it's really gone downhill. We waited six months for a pair of glasses to come in."

But others say their experience has been really good,  they're only hoping for better communication should the business make a comeback in the future.

As it stands, it is unclear if other locations have closed, though when WBOC tried to call the numbers for other Accurate Optical locations, the lines were busy or disconnected.
