Troopers Investigate Serious Rehoboth Motorcycle Crash

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Police are investigating a serious motorcycle crash that occurred Friday evening on Plantations Road.

Police say Robert Willoughby, 54, of Smyrna, and his 58-year-old female passenger were traveling southbound on the shoulder of Plantations Road shortly after 5 p.m. 

At the same time a 2018 Toyota Highlander was turning left into a home, and the motorcycle and vehicle both collided, according to officers. 

Troopers say Willoughby and his passenger were ejected from the motorcycle and are currently at Christiana Hospital with serious injuries.

Responding officers say the 54-year-old driver of the Toyota stopped at the scene and was not injured.

Willoughby faces charges of  Passing on the Right, Vehicular Assault 2nd Degree and Driving Under the Influence, according to Troopers.
