Cecil County Barn Fire Causes Estimated $500K in Damage

PORT DEPOSIT, Md.- The Maryland Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a barn fire at Anchor & Hope Farm that broke out Monday afternoon in Cecil County.

One firefighter was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.

According to the fire marshal's office, an employee discovered the fire at 12:26 p.m. on 167 Anchor Hope Lane in Port Deposit. It took firefighters 90 minutes to control the fire that began in the interior of a horse stall.

Total damage to the barn and its contents is estimated to be $500,000. 

The barn did not have a smoke alarm, fire alarm, or sprinkler present, according to investigators.
