MAGNOLIA, Del.- A 20-year-old Magnolia man was sentenced to nine years in prison for sexually abusing a child for years.
The Delaware Department of Justice said Friday that Emmanuel Wright started a pattern of sexual and physical abuse with a victim when she was 12 years of age. Authorities say the abuse continued for two years until Wright was arrested in 2018.
Investigators say Wright sexually and physically abused the victim "repeatedly and frequently," and he tried to convince the victim to hide the evidence from her mother as well as medical professionals.
A Superior Court judge sentenced Wright to nine years in prison on related child abuse charges. He is also required to register as a Tier 3 (high-risk) sex offender.
