SALISBURY, Md. - One of the five places people can drop off donations of school supplies for Rising Tide is at Safford Automotive in Salisbury.

Rising Tide is a joint effort between Safford Automotive and WBOC to help meet the needs of non-profit agencies on Delmarva.

From 7am to 7pm, Safford will accept school supplies at several locations. You can drop off supplies at Stafford, WBOC offices in Milton, Dover and Cambridge, and the Ocean Pines administration office.

"The school supply drive is one of the biggest drives we do every year because it's so important for all the children to be prepared for school," said Katie Maxwell with Safford.

After the drive closes, the supplies collected in Maryland will go to Fresh Start, a Wicomico County back to school event. On Sunday, August 25th, students can visit the Wicomico Civic Center and pick up supplies, get a new haircut and free food.

"If a kid goes back to school with a brand new backpack, supplies, a fresh haircut, they feel a heck of a lot better to start off the year. And they're focused on the right things and not focused on what they don't have," said James Simmons, the organizer of Fresh Start and recreation superintendent for the civic center.

Donations in Delaware will be distributed by the Boys & Girls Club of Delaware.
