Posted: Updated:

EASTON, Md. - The new Easton Armory is open. The building opened its doors to hundreds of soldiers earlier this month, bringing with is new state-of-the-art amenities and services.

On a tour with Major Kurt Rauschenberg, the building features pristine hallways, office spaces and a large drill space.

To Rauschenberg, the building brings a sense of pride and large enough for future soldiers, equipment and storage.

Down the hall on the second floor, Major Rauschenberg says the armory has even more room for a library, the Maryland Color Guard, and even a simulation room.

In the back, there's also more than 20 military vehicles parked outside.

All of it for soldiers who are always at the ready.

"We are always ready, always there," Rauschenberg sad. "This a great example of how we can support the various communities on this side of the bridge when it comes to a domestic response and natural disasters that may occur."

Construction for the new armory started back in 2017, replacing another armory that became outdated.

Major Rauschenberg says the Easton Armory will also host a number of community events in the future.
