Iconic American Television Personality Teams Up with Two-time Emmy Award-Nominated Producer on A New Production Venture

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Sept. 5, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Renowned American actor and television personality Christopher Knight has announced today that he has teamed up with his long-time friend and collaborator, two-time Emmy Award-nominated producer Phil Viardo to launch a new production venture, Former Prodigy Media.

Based in Beverly Hills, California, the new ProdCo was founded with the goal of combining years of experience, access and vision to take creative risks as they develop a slate of cutting edge non-fiction, documentary and scripted projects for a wide variety of platforms and distributors.

The current development slate will include a documentary feature film "Truelove", following an emotional journey of Callie Truelove, a teenager with Williams Syndrome, as she sets on the quest to meet other Williams children with the goal of spreading her love and awareness of this rare genetic disorder. New Series projects in development include the currently untitled "Christopher Knight Home Makeover Project," "Deadly Charm", a true-crime series based on an acclaimed book "The Charmer" by Richard Muti and Charles Buckley, chronicling the unbelievable case of multiple-murderer, Robert Reldan; "Hard Time | Easy Meal", a docuseries based on a popular book "Prison Ramen" by renowned actor Clifton Collins Jr. and Gustavo Alvarez, featuring intimate stories of imprisonment as told by the celebrities that did time in prison; and another documentary series featuring popular recording artist and producer, Trinidad Jame$.

Knight can currently be seen in the upcoming HGTV series, "A Very Brady Renovation," premiering September 9, 2019.

Viardo was most currently the head of Development and Talent at Natural 9 Entertainment, where he will remain a partner and on the board of directors and will continue to co-produce several projects together. His numerous credits include creating the internationally syndicated entertainment news magazine series "Hollyscoop", National Geographic Channels' series "LimoMasters," Univision's hit primetime series "La Gran Sorpresa" and the award-winning ABC series, "The Wildlife Docs" for which he has received two Daytime Emmy Award nominations. His documentary feature film "Public Enemy Number One," co-produced with Alethia Films, is due for release this Fall.
