FRANKFORD, Del.- Delaware State Police have released the name of a pedestrian struck and killed by a car Friday night in Frankford.

Police identified the victim as Patsy A. Baine (Woreman), 56, of Frankford.

Troopers said that shortly before 10 p.m. Friday, the 22-year-old driver of a Lexus was traveling southbound on Route 113, north of Berry Road in Frankford.

Responding troopers say Baine was trying to cross Route 113 southbound when the she walked directly into the path of the Lexus.

As a result of the impact, the woman landed on the shoulder of the road, according to police.

Police say Baine was pronounced dead at the scene.

She did not use a marked crosswalk and was not wearing reflective clothing or a light, according to troopers.

Police say it is undetermined if the woman was impaired at the time of the crash.

Troopers say the driver of the Lexus and his passenger remained at the scene and were not injured.

Officers do not believe the driver was impaired.

The southbound lanes of Route 113 were closed for approximately three hours while police investigated and cleared the scene.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing and anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Cpl. J. Burns of the Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit by calling 302-644-5020.
