Brothers Arrested in Dover Pizza Delivery Robberies

DOVER, Del.- Two brothers have been arrested in connection with two robberies of food delivery drivers in Dover on Aug. 29.

Dover police say that in the first robbery, a pizza delivery driver tried to deliver food at a home in the Dover East Estates Mobile Home Park shortly after 12:30 a.m. The driver told police a man was waiting for him and asked if the employee had change for a $100 bill.  The employee told him he did not, then the man allegedly punched the employee and fled with the food he was holding.  The man was described as in his late teens to early 20s, Hispanic, and between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 in height.

During the second incident later the same night,  a pizza delivery employee attempted to deliver food at a home, also in the Dover East Estates Mobile Home Park. The driver told police that when he arrived at the home, a man was waiting for him.  While speaking with the man, a second man allegedly entered the passenger side of the victim's vehicle and punched him.  The victim said the first man grabbed him around the head and threatened to stab him if he did not give him money. Both men then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and food.  The first suspect was described as in his early 20s, Hispanic, 6-foot-tall, and approximately 200 pounds.  The second man was described as Hispanic and in his early 20s.  

According to police, Melkin Ramos, 20, was charged in both incidents and was arrested Tuesday by the Dover Police Department.  Tommy Ramos, 17, was charged in connection with the second incident and was arrested Sept. 6 by Dover police.  

Melkin Ramos was committed to SCI on a $45,000 secured bond on the following charges:

-Robbery 1st Degree (2x)
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Offensive Touching

Tommy Ramos received a $10,000 secured bond on the following charges:

-Robbery 1st Degree
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree

    Amy Kyle's family has had connections to the Fenwick Island area for generations and enjoys the beach inside the state park that bears the town's name.

    But Kyle said she's concerned for the park and greater community because of discussions involving the State of Delaware and a Danish company seeking to build a transmission facility for an offshore wind farm --- in exchange for $18 million in improvements like increased parking capacity.
