Delmarva Bike Weeks Kicks Off in Salisbury

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - If you think you're seeing more motorcycles on the road this week, that's because you are. Delmarva Bike Week kicked off Thursday.

There are multiple locations for the four day event, like in Salisbury at Perdue Stadium. There are also events going on in Ocean City for OC Bike Fest, at places like the Roland E. Powell Convention Center and the inlet.

Organizers say visitors and vendors come to Delmarva Bike Week from all corners of the country.

"It's a big draw from all over. I have vendors all the way from Georgia, New Mexico," organizer Dave Hrycyk says. "You meet all kinds of people from all over the world. We had people here last year, the year before, from Germany."

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office announced it will have deputies on hand for the event to help keep the traffic flowing. It's something that some bikers say makes for a safe weekend.

"The cops keep everything under control so that makes us feel safe," motorcyclist Billy Lilly says. "And, everybody sees us good so we feel real safe riding down."
The event runs every day until Sunday. For a full list of Delmarva Bike Week events, visit here:
