GEORGETOWN, Del.- Georgetown Police arrested a Millsboro man in connection to a robbery on Friday afternoon.

Officers say they originally responded the call for a fight on South Bedford St. near Lynch’s Lane.

While responding, police say they were informed that it was actually a robbery and the suspect, Joseph Selby, 59, of Millsboro, had left the scene of foot.

Before arriving on the scene, police say they picked up a man matching the suspect's description.

After investigating, police say the victim was giving Selby a ride to Georgetown when Selby demanded money from the victim.

Police say the victim was able to stop the car and get out.

Selby also got out of the car before he started choking the victim while reaching for their wallet, according to police.

Police arrested Selby for Robbery Second Degree and Strangulation. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of $10,000 cash bond.
