DAGSBORO, Del.- A man is behind bars following accusations that he struck his wife with a car jack during a domestic dispute in Dagsboro.

Delaware State Police said it happened shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 at a home on the 30000 block of Back Bay Drive.

Responding troopers met with a 39-year-old man who told them that he and his brother, 33-year-old Scott M. Anderson, of Frankford, had gotten into an argument. According to police, the man stated that after the argument turned physical, Anderson’s wife attempted to intervene when she was struck by her husband with a car jack. There were two children present in the home during this incident, police said. Troopers said Anderson's brother was not hurt. However, police said Anderson's wife sustained minor injuries and declined medial treatment at the scene.

Anderson had fled the home in a vehicle prior to troopers' arrival and was later located outside in the area of the 30000 block of East Lagoon Road in Dagsboro, according to police.

A computer inquiry revealed that Anderson did not have a valid license. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 4 where he was charged with:

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
  • Second-degree assault
  • Endangering the welfare of a child (two counts)
  • Offensive touching
  • Driving Without a Valid License

Anderson was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $72,020 cash only bond.
