EASTON, Md.- Authorities are searching for the cause of a fire that left an Easton home in ruins.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze occurred shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22 at a two story home located at 27338 Rest Circle. Investigators said the smoke alarm went off followed by the owner being awakened by smoke.

It took 60 firefighters approximately one hour and 45 minutes to get the two-alarm fire under control.

There were no reported injuries. The fire caused an estimated $325,000 in damage to the structure and another $130,000 in damage to its contents.

The fire was determined to have started inside the garage but how it started remains under investigation.
