Posted: Updated:

EASTON, Md.- Easton police say a man verbally attacked a woman because of the way she parked her car in a  parking lot.

On Tuesday, the Easton Police Department responded to the Aldi on US 50 in reference to a disturbance. Police say that when they arrived, they arrested 49-year-old John Dalager of Oxford.

Police say Dalager approached a woman in the parking lot because of the way her car was parked. Police say Dalager began yelling at the woman. Police say Dalager even began drawing the attention of several people in the store. Dalager was heard insulting the woman based on her racial/religious associations.

Dalager was asked to calm down, police say, but he would not.

Police say this is when a bystander stepped in. The man said he told police he feared Dalager might assault the woman.

Dalager was placed under arrest and taken to the Talbot County Detention Center. He was charged with disorderly conduct and racial/religioius harassment.
