Man, 19, Charged in Dover Double Shooting

DOVER, Del.- A 19-year-old man is in custody after police say he shot two people in Dover over the weekend. 

Dover police said that on Wednesday, Sept. 25, the Milford Police Department received information that William Cane was involved in Sunday night's shootings in Dover Park, located at 1200 White Oak Road in Dover.

Milford police later located Cane who was then questioned by Dover police detectives. Cane confessed to detectives that he was involved in the shootings, according to police.

Cane was charged with two counts of first-degree assault, Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony, two counts of Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited, Illegal Gang Participation, first-degree reckless Endangering, second-degree Conspiracy and third-degree assault. Cane was ordered held on $126,500 bond.

According to police, Sunday's incident left a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg and a 20-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his arm and hip. Both men were taken to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital for treatment. There is no word yet on their current condition.
