Ocean City Police Open Investigation Into Possible Hit And Run at H2Oi

Posted: Updated:

OCEAN CITY, MD-A video depicting a possible hit and run went viral this weekend at H2Oi.

The video shows a white BMW attempting to perform a burnout, but instead strikes at least one man watching the maneuver nearby.

The Ocean City Police Department have now opened an investigation into this video, hoping to track down whoever was driving.

Police Chief Ross Buzzuro said in a press conference today, "We're going to pursue that violator during that event," he said.

"We're fortunate that video in this case is lending a helping hand to us, because we can't be everywhere, so there's additional eyes that are going to help us get to the bottom of it."

Many locals living in town are backing the police department, hoping they make an example out of the driver and charge them to the fullest extent.

"Unbelievable, unbelievable," Mona Vaughn said as she watched the video today.

"They came with blatant disrespect, they came to tear this town down."

Some hope the event stays away from Ocean city, citing safety concerns. But many fear the event will return, as it is unsanctioned.

But some say despite this, the town still needs to step up and put certain measures together.

Diane Goetz said, "If they are going to come and enjoy themselves, and behave themselves and there's a specific area that they can do those burnout things, and if the city is going to set aside a specific place for them to do that, then that's fine," she said.

A social media post is circulating online saying another H2Oi event could be coming to Ocean City in two weeks--this is also expected to be unsanctioned.
