Troopers Investigating Armed Robbery at Dover Dollar General

DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at a Dollar General store Sunday evening.

Troopers were called to the Dollar General on Gateway South Boulevard in Dover shortly after 7:30 p.m. for a report of a robbery.

Police say a female employee reported that a male suspect approached the counter, removed a knife from his sweatshirt, pointed it at her, and demanded money. 

The employee said that after she opened the register, the suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash, threatened to kill her and then fled the scene.  The employee was not injured.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6-foot-tall wearing a hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants and armed with a knife.  The suspect was last seen running toward the Food Lion.
