DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at a Royal Farms parking lot in Dover Tuesday night.

Troopers were dispatched to the Royal Farms on West Lebanon Road at around 7:15 p.m.

According to police, a man was in his car when he was approached by two people who asked to use his cellphone. The man agreed, and the two suspects got into his car.

After obtaining the phone, the suspects reportedly got out of the car and began to run toward the west side of the Royal Farms. The man was able to catch up with them, and asked them to get back into his car while they used his phone, police said.

As the suspects got back inside the man's car, one of the suspects reportedly engaged in a physical altercation with the man. Both suspects again got out of the car and ran away, police said.

The man did not sustain injuries during the incident, according to police.

No surveillance video is available at this time, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Det. Ryan with Troop 3 at 302-697-4454. Information can also be provided to Delaware Crime Stoppers online or by calling 1-800-TIP-3333.
