Lincoln Man Arrested for Hitting A Man With A Vehicle

LINCOLN, Del. - Delaware State Police have arrested a Lincoln man after he struck a man with his vehicle after an argument.

Police say the incident occurred on Oct. 8, at approximately 3:09 p.m.

Upon arrival it was learned that a black Chevrolet Cobalt, was driven by 33-year-old Nicholas J. Arches, who was traveling westbound on Clendaniel Pond Rd., when he swerved and struck a 38-year-old man as he was walking in the grass area off the roadway.

During the investigation, troopers learned that the male victim had just engaged in a verbal altercation with Arches at Arches’s residence when the victim proceeded to walk away. 

Police say Arches then got into his vehicle and intentionally struck the victim as he was walking away. The victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment.

Arches was located at his residence on Clendaniel Pond Road and taken into custody without incident. He was transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony
  • Second-degree assault
  • First-degree reckless endangerment
  • Driving while suspended or revoked

Arches was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $20,500 cash only bond.
