MILFORD, Del. - Police have arrested a Dover man and charged him in connection with a September shooting at a Milford apartment complex.

Police say officers responded to a call of possible shots fired on Sept. 5 at Brightway Commons. Officers reported that several rounds had struck an unoccupied vehicle.

Further investigation led police to William Harris, 28, as one of the individuals allegedly involved.  Police say the investigation also revealed Harris allegedly removed evidence from the scene prior to fleeing.

On Tuesday, Harris was apprehended by the United States Marshal’s First State Fugitive Task Force in Milford, according to police.  Harris has been charged with Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Weapon in a Safe School Zone, Giving a Firearm to Person Prohibited, Tampering With Physical Evidence, Conspiracy Second Degree, and Criminal Mischief Over $1000.

Harris was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $67,500 secured.  Harris was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution and is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 10.18.2019 for a preliminary hearing.

The department says this investigation is still active and updates will be released as the information becomes available.
