Fire Destroys Barn in Delmar, Cause Still Under Investigation

DELMAR, Md.- Authorities are searching for the cause of a weekend fire that caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage to a barn in Delmar.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze occurred shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at the two story building located at 705 Bi-State Blvd. 

The Delmar Fire Department responded to the scene and got the fire under control within 20 minutes. The fire caused an estimate $20,000 in damage to the structure, according to investigators.

There were no reported injuries. 

Investigators determined the fire started on the second floor but still do not know how it started. Anyone with information is asked to call the Salisbury office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal at 410-713-3780.
