Congressman Andy Harris Holds Town Hall in Berlin

BERLIN, Md.- About 30 people on Monday night joined Congressman Andy Harris, R-Md., during a town hall held at Stephen Decatur High School in Berlin.

Attendees took turns asking questions regarding national and local issues, including offshore drilling, impeachment proceedings, gun control and health care.

"I want to hear from him things that appeal to the national interest," said Tom Wieland, of Worcester County. "As far as the local interest, I really think they need to have a different site for the bay bridge and we need to have better support for our farmers."

Others were there not to ask questions, but to simply say "thank you," like the Holland family, who came from Stockton to thank the congressman for his help with a Medicare issue.

"We are here to thank Congressman Harris for all that he did for us and helping us," said Shana Farlow. Her brothers suffer from a series of health conditions and earlier this year they were in need of help.

"There was a change in benefits with Medicare with my brothers and it was really a nightmare and he took lead on it, and he just went...he wrote a letter, and now we're taken care of," she said.

This was the third and last in a series of town halls held on the Eastern Shore. The other two were held in Talbot and Caroline counties.
