Posted: Updated:

LAUREL, Del. - One of two men allegedly involved in the murder of a 19-year-old in 2018 pleaded guilty to second degree murder.

According to the Delaware Department of Justice, Traevon Dixon, 22, of Laurel, pleaded guilty to a weapon possession charge as well. It stems from a deadly shooting that happened last year.

Authorities said in Sept. 2018,  Isaac Hatton, 19, was found on the bank of a pond near Portsville Road in Laurel. Investigators said he had been shot and killed. Dixon was identified by state police as one of the two people involved in the deadly incident. The other person was Jerry Reed, 27, of Greenwood. Authorities said he turned himself in to police a week after they found Hatton's body.

The DOJ said sentencing for Dixon will take place after Reed's trial. Reed faces first degree murder charges, among others.
