SALISBURY, Md.- Maryland State Police arrested three men on drug charges early Sunday morning following a traffic stop.

Shortly after 2 a.m., police say Raquan William, 21, of Essex, was pulled over for making an unsafe lane change and negligent driving on Route 13 north of Old Eden Road.

Troopers say they spotted marijuana on Williams’ sweater. Williams stated he didn’t
know why the marijuana was on his clothing, but then said he smoked marijuana earlier in the day.

After conducting a probable cause search, 35 baggies of marijuana (30.2 grams), 16 vials of cocaine (7 grams), a digital scale and a ceramic plate and razor blade containing cocaine residue were found inside Williams' Honda, according to police.

While searching Williams, police say eight baggies of marijuana were found in his pants pocket (6.5 grams), and a baggie of cocaine was found in his underwear.

According to troopers, the driver and his two passengers, Montaz Antonio Wright, 20, and Brandon Nicholas Lee, 21, both of Baltimore, denied any knowledge of the drugs inside the car.

Troopers say the driver and both passengers were arrested on CDS charges. Williams was also charged with DUI after failing field sobriety tests, according to police.

Police say all three men were held without bond at the Wicomico County Detention Center.
