HARRINGTON, Del.- Authorities say a Frederica man was arrested Tuesday for stealing multiple firearms from a house in Harrington.

The Harrington Police Department was contacted on Monday, Oct. 21 for reports of stolen firearms from a home on North West Street.

Police say they were able to determine that within the month, an unknown suspect entered the victim's house and take three shotguns, a cross-bow, and other hunting equipment.

Police say they were able to identify the man as 32-year-old Thomas L. Wester of Frederica. Officers said they were able to determine that Wester pawned one of the stolen weapons at a local pawn shop. Police say during the investigation they were able to recover one of the guns, and when officers arrived to the pawn shop, Wester was found sitting in a parked car in the parking lot of the pawn shop.

Harrington police say Wester was taken into custody without any incident and taken to the Harrington Police Department for processing.

Police say they determined Wester was the man who stole the items from the home on North West Street, and sold the weapons to the pawns shop, or to other subjects on the street.

Wester has been charged with, three counts of theft of a firearm, theft $1,500 or greater, theft under $1,500, conspiracy of the second degree, and theft by false pretense under $1,500, according to police.

He was arraigned through a phone call at the Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on $4,700 unsecured bond.
