SALISBURY Md.- A Salisbury man who held up a convenience store earlier this year has been convicted of armed robbery.

A Wicomico County Circuit Court judge also convicted Anthony Antonio Roper, 59, of firearm use in the commission of a violent crime pursuant to Roper’s guilty plea.

Prosecutors said that on May 10, Roper robbed the Shore Stop convenience store on the 1200 block of Mt. Hermon Road in Salisbury.

Roper, who was armed with a handgun, reportedly took more than $4,000 in cigarettes and approximately $100 in cash from the store during the robbery.

Salisbury Police Department detectives executed search warrants and recovered evidence related to the robbery that linked Roper to the crime.

Sentencing for Roper has been postponed.
