LEWES, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested a husband and wife on burglary and related charges after they were reportedly found squatting in a home in Lewes Saturday night.

Shortly before 5 p.m., police responded to the 16000 block of  Derby Drive in Lewes for a report of a burglary in progress. The homeowners, who were not home at the time, said there were people they did not know in their home, according to troopers.

After arriving, officers say they found 46-year-old Ray Pollard and his wife, 42-year-old Michelle Pollard of Dagsboro, were found in the garage of the Lewes home.

Troopers say the couple and their 16-year-old child had broken into the home with the intention of staying there. The child was found sitting in their 2008 Honda Odyssey van that was parked in the garage of the Lewes home.

Ray and Michelle Pollard were each charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree conspiracy, endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.

Both were arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on $6,600 unsecured bond.
