Eastern Shore Classic Dog Shows Return to Salisbury

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Dog competitors and lovers are flocking to Salisbury for the Eastern Shore Classic Dog Shows.

It kicked off Wednesday at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center. The event is put on by the Talbot Kennel Club, Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club and Mispillion Kennel Club. The 5-day event is an all breed dog show that organizers say more than 100 dogs compete in each day.

Organizers say it's a fun event for the entire family.

"If you're a dog lover, you'll be in heaven," Michael Dougherty with the Talbot Kennel Club says. "I mean we have everything from Chihuahuas to Great Danes. We also have a huge selection of vendors here selling all kinds of things from jewelry to dog treats to clothing."

The event runs through Sunday. Organizers say this is the show's 60th year running and its 10th year at the civic center.
