LEWES, Del.- A Milton man is facing driving under the influence of drugs and related drug charges following a Wednesday night traffic stop in Lewes.
Delaware State Police said it happened at around 8:30 p.m. when a trooper conducted a traffic stop on a Landrover SUV on Beaver Dam Road in Lewes, after the driver failed to signal a lane change and failed to remain within a single lane.
Police said that upon making contact with the Landrover's driver and sole occupant, identified as Harry Johnson Jr., of Milton, the trooper detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Police said a further investigation determined that Johnson was driving under the influence of drugs and a subsequent search of the vehicle produced the following:
Approximately 0.14 grams of heroin
83 amphetamine pills
4 buprenorphine pills
Approximately 23 grams of marijuana
Approximately 6.6 grams of hashish
Approximately 0.8 grams of methamphetamine
Drug paraphernalia
Johnson was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:
Driving under the influence of drugs
Failure to have Insurance Identification in Possession
Failed to remain in a single lane
Possession of drug paraphernalia (2 counts)
Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance Tier 4 Quantity
Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance with aggravated factor (5 counts)
