LEWES, De-

Christmas shopping for a cause. Today the non-profit Friends of Cape Henlopen held their annual Christmas Boutique and Book Sale.

Everything from Christmas decorations, to baked goods, to books were for sale. All of the items were either donated or made by members and their families.

Baked Goods

"It's Christmas time! Everyone loves Christmas decorations and everyone enjoys Christmas shopping," said Doug Briggs.

Friends of Cape Henlopen is made of all volunteers, so none of the money from today's event goes to them.

"Every dollar that we actually raise we put right back in to the park. We invest in things that the park needs that they can't currently cover," said board member Ian Friedland.

Right now the park wants to make it easier to access the beach.

"This year they asked for what's called mobi mats. These mats go across the dunes that help people get across with mobility," said Friedland.

If you weren't able to support today's holiday event, you can get hands on in another way. The group does a beach clean up on the second Saturday of each month. Learn more here.
