2-Day Sweep in Kent County Locates Wanted People, Drugs

DOVER, Del. (AP/WBOC)- A two-day law enforcement sweep in a Delaware county led officers to locate nearly two-dozen wanted people and issue warrants covering nearly 200 charges.
 
Delaware State Police says that troopers, along with local police in Kent County and state correctional officers, participated in the blitz Nov. 5 and 6.
 
The operation resulted in the arrests of 23 wanted individuals. A total of 18 warrants totaling 194 criminal charges were successfully served by the fugitive apprehension teams. Charges included in the executed warrants included burglary and theft of a firearm. An additional 34 court capiases to include violations of probations were also cleared by arrest. One civil citation for possession of marijuana was issued. 
 
Authorities say the issuance of a search warrant also led police to find 189 baggies of heroin in a home where a child under 10 also was living. The Kent County Governor's Task Force and Kent County Drug Unit participated in the drug-related operations.
