Salisbury Kindness Commission and Salisbury University Come Together for World Kindness Day

Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Today is World Kindness Day and Salisbury's Kindness Commission visited Salisbury University to spread positivity around campus.

The Secretary of Kindness Grace Foxwell Murdock, says their goal is to spread positivity to schools, local governments, businesses, and neighborhoods.

Students, faculty and staff got to pick out kindness cards and write out a positive message, along with a piece of candy to mail it to a friend or someone they don't know from the university.

"We are just asking them to share kindness, be kind, and that will help the culture of the university and our community increase its kindness and that's what we're all about," said Murdock.

Some students say they have hope these kind of initiatives will bring a positive light to the community.

"Just the idea of what the table represents it just creates a different atmosphere," said Grad student from Salisbury University Brian Anderson.

The next kindness event will be in December where they will help support seniors in nursing homes and in the community.
