DOVER, Del.- After 26 years in business, Where Pigs Fly BBQ restaurant in Dover will be closing its doors for good Saturday, Nov. 16.

The restaurant, located at 617 E. Loockerman St., made the announcement Wednesday on its Facebook page

In the post, owners Tom and Kelly Devine, along with management and staff, wrote, "We appreciate every customer who has come through our doors or that we have catered for since April 19, 1993. We are grateful to you for welcoming us as part of this community. Thank you for the many years of business, support, and your cherished friendships. We have loved serving you!"

In their post, Tom and Kelly Devine did not give a reason for the sudden closing, but did write, "Come dine in or take out, on our last few days, so we can celebrate together.”

The Delaware State News reports that last year, the restaurant, known for its smoked baby back ribs, pork, chicken and brisket, marked its silver anniversary in business with a Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting event attended by Dover Mayor Robin Christiansen, current and former staff members, chamber members and restaurant patrons.
