Easton Native, Maggie Rogers, Honored in TIME's 100 Next

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK - Singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers has been honored by TIME, being named in the first ever list of TIME's 100 Next.

Rogers, a Delmarva native, performed songs from her first major-label album "Heard It In A Past Life," Thursday night in front of peers and other honorees for a TIME 100 Next Event. TIME says the honorees are 100 rising stars who are shaping the future of their field. This highlights Rogers unique, genre-bending sound that is transforming what a pop star in the 21st century can be.

Last night, Rogers performed hits including "Light On," and "Alaska." The latter of the two, helped kick start her career while she was still a student in college. The song stuck out to singer and producer Pharrell Williams during a master class.

Rogers performed on Ellen and Saturday Night Live in the last year. Not long after, the 25-year-old sold out shows across the country and performed in different cities around the world.

Rogers grew up in Easton with her family. She has said that she wrote most of the "Heard It In A Past Life" songs in her bedroom and barn-studio.

Rogers has performed on DelmarvaLife in the past.
