DSP Investigating Armed Robbery of Smyrna Liquor Store

SMYRNA, Del.- Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at a liquor store in Smyrna on Thursday evening.

Troopers said they responded to the Spruance City Liquor store on Smyrna Clayton Boulevard shortly after 7 p.m.

A male employee reported that an unknown male suspect had entered the store, approached the employee, and pointed a handgun at him while demanding money. 

The employee told police he turned over an undisclosed amount of cash prior to the suspect fleeing the store. The employee was not hurt.

The suspect was described as a black male, wearing dark clothing and a dark colored mask.  He was armed with what appeared to be a silver and black colored handgun, and is believed to have fled on foot.
