Hogan Appoints New Delegate for Prince George’s County

Posted: Updated:

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP)- Gov. Larry Hogan has appointed a new delegate to replace a former lawmaker who resigned last month after pleading guilty to fraud.

Hogan announced Friday that Nicole Williams has been appointed to represent District 22 in Prince George’s County.

The governor appointed Williams to the seat in the House of Delegates on the recommendation of the Prince George’s County Democratic Central Committee.

Williams is an attorney with the law firm Rees Broome, PC.

Williams is replacing former Del. Tawanna Gaines, a Democrat who resigned last month. Gaines pleaded guilty in federal court to illegally using campaign funds for her personal benefit.
