Exploring Birdwatching on Delmarva

Posted: Updated:

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. - Delmarva is best known for its beautiful beaches and historic towns, but the peninsula is also world famous for its incredible variety of birds.

Michael Walsh is an avid bird watcher and said Delmarva is bird watcher central in these parts.

"Especially Worcester County is probably the 'birdiest' county in the state of Maryland, because we are in the fly way. We've got the water to the left as they are coming down from the north and in places like this, you have little bay here, so they are funneling down through here during migration through the fall," said Walsh.

If you're interested in finding out more about birds, you should contact your local bird club.
